Types of dry floor fountains

A dry floor fountain works with water collected in a pond below the surface of the ground and there are different types of water flow and feeding systems for it.

In the following, you will learn about different types of dry floor fountains.

Single holes:

It consists of a matrix of holes that are connected to each other by a pipeline network. Above each pit is a floor tile with a grid in the center, which is usually small in size. These fountains need more careful maintenance than others.

channels:

This system consists of a series of channels that are connected to each other and have the same water level, and dry floor nozzles exit from them. The canals are fed and connected by a network of pipelines located below them. Lights, wiring and other devices are also installed underground. The entire canal is covered with tiles and is so strong and wide that it facilitates the movement of people or vehicles. There should be a distance of 1.20-1.50 meters between them so that people can walk without getting wet. This type of fountain offers easy and practical maintenance.

Open tank:

In this case, the water is collected in a large tank or a large outdoor pool located below the surface of the fountain. The pavement on the reservoir is supported by a structure consisting of thick reinforced columns whose height is adjustable. Each column consists of a maximum of four paving stones. The maintenance and installation of this system is very easy, in order to access the various equipment below the surface of the dry floor fountain, the operator only has to remove the paving stones.

auxiliary tank:

Water is collected and fed from an underground tank located nearby (dry surface fountain). A pump and a series of pipes connected to the tank feed the water nozzles. The water returns to the tank through the gravity return pipeline, the pipes must be slightly inclined and have a significant cross-section to be able to reach the low water flow velocity. This system can be combined with the first two (separate pits and channels) to create more efficient fountains.

Fun and game fountains

Some types of fountains are designed in such a way that they allow interaction between the audience and the water, and in some cases with sound and light effects, which increase the possibilities of public spaces. When this happens they are called interactive dry floor fountains. The design and concept of these fountains are similar to dry fountains. But children’s toys are placed next to them.
